1. The Swallow is called a guest bird because it does not live in the chimney on a permanent basis. It flies away with the advent of the winter.
2. The Swallow comes and lives in our chimney when it is summer. But with the advent of the winter it flies away in search of warm weather. So it is called a summer bird.
