What is UEFI?

UEFI's full Unified Extensible Firmware Interface. UEFI is the newest version of BIOS. It is used in modern motherboards. Now the question is what was needed to make it new to have BIOS. Since BIOS was used in older computers, it had some limitations. One of these is to support the drive. Previously, hard drives of computers used MBR or master boot record partitioning schemes. This partitioning scheme can only be used on a hard drive of 2 terabytes and 4 primary partitions can be
created. To solve all these problems in modern times, new partition scheme GPT has been created with UEFI. This allows you to use a hard drive like Terabyte or Petabyte Jetabyte and create a maximum of 128 partitions. UEFI is created using animations with a graphical user interface. It can be controlled using both mouse and keyboard. Here you can see more information including processor temperature, voltage, motherboard fan speed.

When we press the power button on the computer, the operating system does not start immediately. After some time the operating system is turned on. In this post I will discuss in detail how the operating system is turned on after pressing the power button of the computer and BIOS and UEFI. UEFI is related to BIOS so let's first learn about BIOS.

 
The full name of BIOS is Basic Input Output System. A BIOS is a small piece of code o r program that resides inside a ROM-like chip on a computer's motherboard. It is also called motherboard firmware. This program is first launched by pressing the power button on the computer. BIOS does a lot of normal work. But these tasks are very important for the computer. It initializes the hardware during the process of starting the computer. This allows the software to connect to the hardware. So let's find out how BIOS works.
     The power supply supplies power to the motherboard when the computer's power button is pressed. Which activates the process of turning on the computer. First, the BIOS turns on all the hardware attached to the motherboard. Then check that all the hardware is working properly through POST. Shows the way to go to BIOS settings on the monitor screen when the post is done. BIOS settings can only be controlled with the keyboard.

To go to settings you have to press the specified key from the keyboard. This key varies depending on the motherboard manufacturer. Some important information can be selected in the settings. Such as: time and date, boot order etc. The boot order will first look at which device to start the operating system in mind. Usually in the boot order the hard drive is selected first and then another device. If the operating system needs to be set up anew, you must first select a pen drive or CD / DVD in the boot order. Press the key from the keyboard to go to the settings to find the device to start the BIOS operating system. Once the device is found, the operating system starts. Current operating systems can connect directly to the hardware. So after that the BIOS has no more work

Hard disk drive is the full form of HDD. It is a type of magnetic storage device. From the word hard disk it is understood that something like disk or disc is related. Opening the aluminum cover of a modern hard disk reveals that several disks or discs are arranged in several layers. Which are called platters. All information is written to the platter via a magnetic head. Each disc tends to be very thin. The number of discs determines the total capacity of the hard disk. And the features are similar to the name because the discs are quite stiff. Each disc is attached to a powerful motor so that it can rotate at much higher speeds at the same time. A lot depends on this rotation. One of the important ones is the data transfer rate. That is, the higher the rotation, the faster the data transfer. The unit of measurement of this rotation is rpm or revolutions per minute. Typically the current on hard disks now varies from 4,200 to 15,000 rpm, depending on the hard disk.
